Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Jurong GRC

"What are you doing with that guy?" Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam asked Michelle Obama. "He makes just $550,000 a year. I get four times that, and I don't have to deal with Fox News."

  1. Sir, i hope you are the man in charge of our CPF. May I know what is the use of our CPF when I reached 65, by then, I may or may not be able to use my CPF to travel, sightsee, invest in small business etc. Not everyone's strength @65 is the same as others. Some may be stronger and some weaker. Some may not have the chance to see the living daylight @ 65. I really do not want to continue working when I am 55 or 60. I want to enjoy my life with my grand kids. Besides, i would really love to enjoy my golden years. Why do you still insist that we work? Can you leave the option to withdraw our CPF at our will? Why must you have a say in our savings? Where is our freedom to exercise and decide what we want to do with our assets.

Please tell me the truth, i heard people speculate that there isn't sufficient fund in the "Vault" to pay out, people also say that the money on reserves are paper value only etc. I would like to hear from you and if possible can you have an international audit to prove that we truly have that kind of money in the Vault?

    Thanks
    FT
